Season 2021/22 officially underway

After a rainy start to the season, PVCCC was finally able to take to the field last weekend.

It was a great weekend of cricket, with the 2nds, 3rds, 6ths and Women’s T20 sides all securing wins.

In the 2nds, a 5th wicket partnership of 128 between Mason Carburn (85*) and Lawrence McKay (60) helped turn the tide after a few early wickets.

Mark Campbell scored 106* to guide the 3rds to their win. Meanwhile in the 1sts, Cameron Milich took an impressive 5 wickets. Paul Posar was the top run scorer in the 4ths with 45*. In the 5ths, Craig Berry scored 70, while D Patel (62) and S Adil (3/12) were top performers in the 6ths.

Lauren La Bouchardiere scored 50* off 34 balls to steer the Women’s team to victory, with eight 4s and two 6s. The team were also pleased to welcome Reannah Bourke in her debut for the club.

The Under 10s played their first game of the season last Friday. It was a night of firsts - the first time batting and bowling for new team members, parents watching their kids play for the first time, and the first time trying to run a single calling yes then no then yes then no! There were huge smiles all round from all involved.
